Biography
I went to Amersham College in 1978 to study Fine Art.
From the early ’80’s I worked in Film Production as a Production Manager and had very little time to sketch let alone paint. So, when I started a family, I went back to painting.
I try to sketch and paint (pleinair) every day taking inspiration from wherever I finds myself, Buckinghamshire, Cornwall, Australia! More formally I paint portraits, the human form, landscapes, seascapes and animals forever learning and welcome every challenge. I loves colour, shape and form. Painting with oils, acrylics, mixed media and collage for texture, I also uses charcoal, pastels and pencils.
My ceramics are hand built and painted with coloured slips (coloured clay) and sgraffito (drawn into) in more abstract designs.
I exhibit locally, nationally and internationally: Bucks Open Studios, Bucks Art Society, West Wycombe Art Group, Marlow Art Society, Dorset Art Weeks, Mall Galleries (London). My artwork is held in collections as far afield as Australia, Singapore, South Africa, North America, Canada and Europe.
