Biography
After studying painting and printmaking at Art College, I developed an interest in working with clay, textiles and mixed media and making installations. I had the privilege of working with, and learning from inspirational teachers, from different art disciplines, during my time in secondary schools.
I draw my subject matter from the natural world, looking for rhythms and textures by looking close up, for example at hedges, rockpools and the world beneath my feet. I enjoy the abstract qualities I see when observing closely twisted and tangled branches, strange flora and fauna interacting with shadow and reflection in a rockpool, or a insect’s eye view of wood bark or the forest floor.
We have been very lucky to have exhibited at Sunneyhill Barn in Rowsham for the past few years – a beautiful and inspirational setting. This year we are delighted to be at Queens Park Arts Centre – a thriving place that welcomes anyone wishing to explore their personal creativity.
