This is Lauren’s first time exhibiting at Bucks Art Weeks. She hopes to exhibit further in the future and also plans to show her work at fairs and markets around the Marlow and Henley-on-Thames areas in the Autumn.
Biography
Lauren Butcher is a ceramic artist based in Henley-on-Thames who has recently returned to pottery. After moving to Henley from East London a year ago, she joined Marlow Studio Pottery to rediscover her love of ceramics.
Lauren uses a variety of hand building techniques to create sculptural vessels inspired by natural forms and the organic tactile nature of the clay itself. Her work is rooted in the relationship between feel and form. Each piece is unique and created as an instinctive response to the touch and feel of the clay. She aims to continue to develop her craft to create large sculptural forms.
Lauren has an MA in Arts Management and Curating and has worked professionally in the visual arts and with arts organisations and museums for over 10 years.
