Chiltern MS Popupart Weekend 4/5 March 2023
Judith's art is rooted in an enjoyment of textures and mark making to interpret her subject into a more contemporary form. Surface quality is a distinctive element of her work, usually achieved through collage with paint and alternative media, a method which she describes as wonderfully liberating. She aims to balance reality with abstraction by experimenting with texture, shape and colour, inviting the viewer to engage on a personal level.
A career in teaching Design and Creative subjects has influenced her style and composition, whilst the big skies and open spaces of Northumberland and the Chilterns, have encouraged an appreciation of the natural surroundings.
"Art" must never stop being a challenge" - and Judith continues to expose herself to different techniques and artists through a variety of courses, study and exhibitions, including Combined Studies at Amersham College and Bucks Art Week. She is part of an active Art group in Chalfont and provides art sessions at Chilterns MS Centre.
