As a life-long Maths geek, with a Mathematics degree from St Andrews University and many years as a secondary school Maths Teacher, Jill has always enjoyed the objectivity of numbers and algebra. She love the satisfaction of solving a problem and getting the answer "right". This, as well as many years of experimenting with different creative mediums, has brought Jill to Abstract Art.
It can't be wrong! There are no rules.
At first, Jill would ask people what they liked and didn't like about her paintings, as if trying to find the winning formula for creating a painting that people love, but the answer was always simple: it just made them feel good when they looked at it. This was a revelation for Jill.
Having recently moved from London to Buckinghamshire with her young family, Jill has a passion for interior design inspired predominantly by her Antique Dealer parents. Jill loves combining different styles, which you can see with some of her contemporary paintings being framed in Antique frames. Jill loves to spend time making paintings that make people feel happy and that make beautiful, colourful focal points in a room.
Jill works predominantly with acrylic and spray paint on stretched canvases. Jill's pieces range in size from as small as A5 to as large as 2 meters. Some framed and some unframed.
