I had a solo exhibition of recent lino-reduction prints in 2021 and I regularly open my studio for events at Westbury Arts Centre. I teach a lino-reduction printmaking classes at Westbury Arts Centre.
My name is Vonnie Raw and 'Cogbeetle art', is all about my passion for art, nature and journeys.
I like to let the materials and processes I use influence the outcome of my artwork; which is largely inspired by the objective and subjective world around me. I use contrast, composition and visual metaphor to convey meaning in my interpretation of objects and events. My work often explores the interplay between natural and ‘man-made’ forms; and this reflects my interest in challenging notions of nature and culture. I also have a profound respect for the natural and historical world, and for its conservation.
I graduated with a BA(Hons) in Fine Art and 'non-European' Art History at Birmingham School of Art in 1993 and went on to complete a Master’s Degree in art & Design Education at De Montfort University in Leicester in 2001. I am CTLLS (Adult Education teaching) qualified (2007) and I have worked and taught in Higher and Further education for most of my career.
I am a member of the 'Artist Collective' at Westbury Arts Centre in Milton Keynes.
