With a background in documentary films I turned my fly-on-the-wall approach to stills photography after having children. Since discovering my love of street photography, I have taken inspiration from the likes of photographer Saul Leiter (particularly his early colour photographs in New York) and also the isolated interior paintings by Edward Hopper.
I’m particularly drawn to capture abstract fragments in large cityscapes that I see reflected in windows, water, mirrors, puddles. I roam unobserved, anonymous, catching people off-guard in their own solitary world. I’m also attracted to photographing light falling on interesting architecture and if it contains a beautiful staircase, all the better.
I print all my own work and exhibit regularly with Buckingham Art for All (Bafa).
