I have worked as a portrait painter for approximately 40 years. I also work in watercolour, particularly flowers, and in oils and acrylic. i have travelled extensively in Africa and Australia, and my work hangs in homes worldwide. I recently discovered the joys of print making, and continue to discover new ways of making image. I love working with the community, and encouraging others in their gift. It is a delight to meet young artists and talk with people about my work and theirs. I started out studying Music with Fine Arts in a degree course at Nottingham University and still love the interaction of the arts. Before I was married I worked as a theatre designer, and also graphic designer specialising in publicity for music and musicians, meeting the most fascinating and wonderful people in the course of my work. I particularly love working with people, and portraits have always made up the bulk of my work. I feel that the arts are essential in times such as this, and I hope we as artists can bring light, and hope for the future.
