In 2003 I changed career, leaving mental health nursing and starting to train in professional embroidery. I was fortunate to gain a place at the Royal School of Needlework, on the three year apprenticeship, learning how to sew almost anything with expertise. After graduating I trained to teach Art in a secondary school and currently teach food part time.

I started making leather belts in 2010 and have not looked back. I’ve had the opportunity to meet and learn from some exceptional leather workers which has informed my practice today. Much of my work involves creating bespoke items, including bags. I enjoy the challenge of turning an idea into a three dimensional piece.

I run classes in leather work and sewing skills, and also design and digital create patterns. When I'm not working with leather I design, make and restore church textiles.

I am an eternal learner and am always looking out for new ideas to bring into my leatherwork. I am currently exploring digital printing and creating fabric designs inspired by acrylic pouring techniques.
