Vibrant, colour saturated landscapes and botanicals have become synonymous with my BRIGHT work. They are cheerful depictions of my everyday surroundings that bring me joy to study and paint. The bold colour being representative of how I observe the world around me. The longer I look the brighter colours become. However there is a change afoot as I feel my work has more to offer. An untapped richness of layering and texture has been waiting in the wings and it’s time to let it shine.
My art practice is currently in an exciting state of flux. I’m embarking on a learning path designed to provide a broader understanding of what I want from my work and how I can achieve it. While I don’t yet know exactly what this work will look like I do know it will be more personal and my use of colour will mature. Landscape 21 Study 01 and 02, shown in the gallery above, are the first steps along this new path.
