dish with tall foot, stoneware clay, dry green glaze

I work in stoneware to hand build my pots, creating small, medium and large pieces, both functional and sculptural. These are then fired in an electric kiln. My work is frost resistant and therefore suitable for use both indoors and outside. I am very drawn to movement, form and texture in my pieces, taking my inspiration from traditional classical forms as well as the lines, tones and textures of nature. Handbuilding is a slow process and rarely results in perfect symmetry. Each piece is unique. The slow handbuilding techniques I use enable me to develop my work in a calm considered way. In my studio I am constantly experimenting with different shapes, new glazes and glaze combinations. My ceramics and skills are continually evolving and progressing as I pursue my fascination with form and texture.
I’m delighted to be exhibiting for the first time at The Good Earth Gallery, Chesham.
