The Bucks Art Weeks Competition

Call for Entry: 1 - 14 AUG

Competition entry is open NOW until midnight 14th August. BAW members – get your entry in!

We are very pleased to announce that the National Trust has enthusiastically agreed to present the work of our BAW artists and makers at Stowe NT and Waddesdon NT in September.

Now we have wrapped up BAW, it’s the perfect time to put your minds to what piece you would like to enter for the BAW Competition. Choose something that you feel represents your very best work, or create something specifically for the event, and photograph it. The website is now taking entries and you have 2 weeks to upload your image – the closing date for entries will be August 14th.

There will be a nominal entry charge of £5 which will go towards the alterations to the website for the competition and advertising, etc.

All members will then have 3 weeks to vote. The 5 entries with the most votes in each of the art forms will be put into the Exhibition at the National Trust Stowe on the weekend of 17/18th September.

Stowe prides itself in the fact that the property was all handmade and is particularly pleased to be representing us as ‘the very best art and craftwork in Buckinghamshire’. The public will be encouraged to vote for their choices over the weekend, which will be added to the panel of invited judges, and the final judging will take place on Sunday afternoon.

The judges will include Amelia Lawrence from the Crafts' Council and Sue Pryke, co-judge on the Great Pottery Throwdown.

To give those south of the county the chance to see your work, the Exhibition will then move the following weekend to National Trust Waddesdon where it be shown for another weekend.

Your work will be seen by thousands of visitors to both properties and will be a wonderful advertisement for Bucks Art Weeks. Both NT properties are keen to make this an annual event which we hope will increase our visitor numbers substantially. We hope everyone will consider taking part – not only just for the fun of it, but also to show everyone in the county how talented Buckinghamshire is!
